To reach Tofino by car, you must first take a ferry from the BC mainland to Vancouver Island. The quickest route is from Horseshoe Bay to Nanaimo. Your drive along Pacific Rim Highway will take you through spectacular Cathedral Grove, where 800-year-old Douglas Fir trees touch the skies. Winding around Sproat and Kennedy lakes and peaking over Sutton Pass, the drive to Tofino is a breath-taking adventure. Your travel time from Nanaimo to Tofino is 2.5-3 hours.
For a real adventure, sail your yacht up the Westcoast of Vancouver Island to the protected waters of the Tofino Inlet. Moor your vessel at the private birth at the Shore Marina.

Fly directly from Vancouver International Airport (YVR) to Tofino's own airport (YAZ). A 45 minute flight over Vancouver Island lands you in the beautiful wilderness of Clayoquot Sound and the West Coast. From there, it's only a short 7 minute drive to The Shore.
Alternatively, hire a charter seaplane or fly your own directly to your front door at the Shore Marina.
